What is United General doing to save lives? Without question, the most effective tool in combating breast cancer is early detection by mammogram. We believe the best way to achieve that goal is by investing in the latest, most effective solution--digital mammography. Digital mammography is the most advanced technology for detection of breast cancer.  We know that early detection is critical to improving overall survival rates for breast and other cancers.  With the purchase of digital mammography equipment the Breast Care Center at United General Hospital is equipped with the most up-to-date digital technology, allowing mammograms to be transmitted via satellite to facilities outside our region for interpretation by other physicians, if needed.

Thanks to the Sedro-Woolley Rotary the United General Hospital Foundation was able to pay off its commitment to raise the funds to purchase digital mammography equipment two years ahead of schedule. United General has a proud history of offering the best in cancer care and we thank the Sedro-Woolley Rotary for enabling us to provide next-generation advances like these.
