 | Holly Brown Holly is a co-owner of Brown McMillen Real Estate, having served as a sales associate for the agency for 11 years. She joined the Foundation a year ago. “I’ve lived and worked in Skagit County all my life and raised my family here,” says Holly, “United is the hospital we used while growing up and it’s the hospital my family still uses. So it makes sense for me to help the hospital and benefit the community.” |  | Alice Hanson Alice is a Realtor with Windermere/Skagit Valley and has been in real estate for 17 years. She has been a member of the Foundation for 10 years. “I have seen the excellent care received by family members at United General Hospital’s North Puget Cancer Center,” says Alice. “Working with the Foundation is a very worthy area for me to put my volunteer time toward.” |

 | Jody Louia Jody is a retired businesswoman, having co-owned Skagit Northwest Distributing. She has been a member of the Foundation Board for one year. “It’s exciting to see the ‘rebirthing’ of the hospital and I am proud to be with the Foundation,” says Jody. She is especially happy about working with The Landing, the children’s bereavement center. “What a great opportunity for folks to get involved with the first of its kind in Skagit County!” |  | Wilma Louia Wilma has been involved with the Foundation for three years, serving this year as Vice President of the Board. Wilma is a Realtor with Re/Max Territory who has a strong interest in public relations and community service. “I joined to be a part of our great hospital and to help make it a success,” says Wilma. “United is experiencing remarkable success and I want to see that continue.” Wilma explains that United General Hospital has been her family’s hospital for decades: her daughter was born here, her father spent his final days here, and her mother is an active United General volunteer. |

 | Laurie Lundgren Laurie is a retired school teacher who taught at Mary Purcell Elementary School for 28 years. She has been a volunteer in North Puget Cancer Center for 10 years and with the Foundation for seven years, serving as president for several of those years. She has a special interest in the Foundation’s Fine Arts Committee, and in acquiring and displaying art in the public areas of the hospital. |  | Marilyn McGuire Marilyn is retired school psychologist who worked with the Concrete School District. She has been a member of the Foundation Board for six years, serving previously as Vice President. She is especially interested in helping to promote the children’s bereavement center, The Landing, because she knows how much children will benefit. |

 | Phil Mihelich Dr. Mihelich has practiced dentistry for 25 years in the community. He has worked with the Foundation for many years and has been especially involved in the annual golf tournament. He believes in the importance of volunteerism as a way to maintain a high quality of life. “Skagit County is a wonderful place to live and raise a family,” says Phil. “Working with the Foundation is one way to continue to improve the community and help one another.” |  | Les Moller Les is a vice president and manager of the Sedro-Woolley office of Whidbey Island Bank. He has been with the Foundation for three years. He has a special interest in raising funds for North Puget Cancer Center, having been greatly impacted by cancer in his family over the years. “My hope is that the Foundation continues to grow and generates gifting in the long term,” Les says. |

 | Kristia Poppe Kristia has been in banking for 20 years and is currently the branch manager of Skagit State Bank in downtown Mount Vernon; she has been with the Foundation for one year. Kristia has a special interest in fundraising and community networking. "I want to help get the word out about United General and be involved with its continued growth." |  | Richard Ruhl Rich has been with the United General Hospital Foundation for three years, and currently serves as President of the Board. A retired administrator from the Sedro-Woolley School District, he is now the manager of rental properties. “I wanted the opportunity to help support United General,” says Rich, “I’ve always felt connected because my mother was one of the surgical nurses who helped open the hospital, to be a member of the foundation is a way that I could help more directly.” Rich appreciates the fact that our staff has cared for many of his family and friends over the years. He encourages more community members to volunteer with or contribute to the Foundation, and to help raise awareness of the services at United General. |

 | Sandi Sims Sandi worked at Skagit Discovery School for 17 years and has been with the Foundation for one year. She has a special interest is developing services for children, teens and families and is a founding member of "The Landing." "My parents taught be the importance of being part of your community," says Sandi. "Being a member on the United General Hospital Foundation is a great way to do that." |  | Lou Spane Lou is the transportation supervisor for the Mount Vernon School District and has been a member of the Foundation Board for five years. “I have seen the Foundation provide important support for the hospital,” says Lou. “It’s wonderful to work with such caring people.” |

 | Brian Stiles Brian is an attorney with Stiles & Stiles Law Firm and has practiced law for over 25 years. He is also a municipal court judge and the attorney for United General Hospital. He has been a Foundation Board member for one year. “My goal in working with the Foundation is to help enhance the community’s understanding of the hospital,” says Brian. |  | Lyle Wesen Lyle is a lifelong Skagit County resident, having graduated from Burlington-Edison High School in 1949 and owning and operating Wesen Farms, Inc. since the 1950’s. Lyle served on United General Hospital’s Board of Commissioners in1966 and has been a member of the Foundation Board for more than 10 years. Lyle’s knowledge and understanding of the community is an important asset to the Foundation and United General. |
